 Soulful Blues, R&B.

Burnin' Love
Delmark DE 806

 Blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and bandleader Dave Weld got his start on Chicago's west side in the late 70s. At the 1815 Club on Roosevelt Road, Dave was in the house band with Chico Chism, Shorty Gilbert, Hubert Sumlin, Detroit Junior, and Eddie Shaw. Dave played there with Otis Rush, Guitar Junior, Tail Dragger, Little Arthur, Johnny Littlejohn and more. During this time Weld was under the tutelage of JB Hutto, a Grammy winning, Blues Hall of Fame slide guitarist. JB introduced Dave to his nephew, Lil Ed. They started the band "Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials" and played every joint in the West side for ten years. Dave started "Dave Weld and the Imperial Flames" in 1988 with Lil Ed's blessing. Burnin' Love is Weld's Delmark debut and it features the legendary Abb Locke on saxophone (played with The Rolling Stones for years); soul & blues legend, Bernard Reed, bass; Jeff Taylor, drums & vocals; Monica Myhre, vocals.

Vasilios Gaitanos

Chicago's Greek Troubadour, Vasilios Gaitanos performs
The Classic Elliniko Songbook.
His haunting interpretations of timeless compositions awaken our philosophical passions about life.
And just as we begin to contemplate over a glass of wine,
he whisks us away on a whistful journey of Greek summer nights of honeysuckle & jasmine dancing on vines under a romantic sky.
Joined by Special Guest, the Lovely Demetra Gaitanos.

Chicago Jazz great, Ms. Jeannie Lambert,
interprets each lyric as a haunting poem
from the long gone days of Billie Holiday Cafe Society.
Her phrasing is colored by life experience;
leaving one with want of a smoky scotch
born of timeless oak
when the smoke of one's cigarette danced in the candlelight.
Accompanied by Sweet Andy Brown whose guitar will lull you into nostalgic seduction.
